Chinese paintings and calligraphies are treasured for their unique beauty and style, manifesting the essences of the art of China. Deji Art Museum focuses mainly on the finest collection of Chinese paintings by Buddhist monks, Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou, and women painters.
The museum’s collection of Buddhist sutra of those written in the Southern and Northern dynasties, as well as of those written in Sui dynasty are among the most treasured and appreciated artifacts in humanity. The paintings by the “Four Monks” of early Qing period are immensely zen, bearing the energy of kong – emptiness. The paintings by the “Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou” are inspirationally revitalizing and spiritually liberating, showcasing the eccentric creative talents of these artists, they profoundly influenced the later generations of painters.
