Easternsports

Easternsports, a collaboration between longtime friends and first-time collaborators Alex Da Corte and Jayson Musson, is a four-channel multilingual soap opera starring the artists’ distinct personalities and voices: Da Corte with striking visuals, in what was his first longform video work; and Musson with the epic monologue script. A vignette-driven update of Thornton Wilder’s classic 1938 play about America, Our Town, Easternsports is equal parts Peter Greenaway and Jim Henson, David Lynch and Duck Amuck. Originally commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Philadelphia, this institutional telenovela was developed and filmed in the summer of 2014.
