Introduction
In order to better fulfill the educational and research functions and make museums a ‘walking classroom,’ the Deji Art Museum has partnered with institutions like the China Academy of Art and Nanjing University of the Arts to initiate exhibition scene teaching. They are exploring collaborative projects to promote the connection between museums and schools, aiming to provide students with richer and deeper learning experiences and social practice.
The teaching practice launched for the first time between the Deji Art Museum and the College of Humanities and Arts of the China Academy of Art focuses on ‘Nothing Still About Still Lifes: Three Centuries of Floral Compositions’. Drawing from over a hundred works by numerous art masters, it seeks to uncover new directions and perspectives, forming expandable and extendable topics, exploring possibilities in various fields such as art history, plant science, and public art education, transforming art into social energy. We will continue to collaborate with the College of Humanities and Arts of the China Academy of Art, focusing on disciplines such as art theory, art history, art planning, and management, conducting organic synergy in teaching, research, publication, practice, and promotion of contemporary Chinese art creation and its cutting-edge theories, deepening the cooperation between art institutions and art colleges, and achieving complementary resource advantages and common development.
Students and teachers from the Photography Department of Nanjing University of the Arts also have taken the courses into the museum, conducting exhibition scene teaching under the theme ‘Nothing Still About Still Lifes: Three Centuries of Floral Compositions,’ turning the exhibition hall into a three-dimensional photography classroom. This allows students to closely experience the interplay of light and shadow created by world art masters, capturing and preserving classic moments of artistic beauty in practice. This innovative teaching approach not only closely integrates art with photography through hands-on experience but also injects new vitality and perspectives into the exhibition.
