Introduction
In order to build a better dual platform for enhancing artistic literacy and social practice for young people, the Deji Art Museum is continuously promoting the collaboration project with Nanjing Hongwu North Road (Red Cross) Primary School — the ‘Red Scarf narrators’ training program, as a long-term aesthetic education project for teenagers. This aims to provide a platform for children to learn and grow through servicing and experiencing, enhancing their understanding of museums and art, cultivating their artistic appreciation skills, inspiring their thoughts and creativity about art, while also greatly exercising their expressive and social abilities.
For this ‘Red Scarf narrators’ museum guiding activity, Fan Fei, Deputy Director of the Xuanwu District Propaganda Department, Wang Chun, Deputy Secretary of the Xuanwu District Youth League Committee, and Liu Dan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xinjiekou Street, attended and personally assessed the children’s learning outcomes alongside Wang Tianyu, Secretary of the Party Branch and Principal of Hongwu North Road Primary School, and Erin, Director of the Deji Art Museum. Under the leadership of 14 ‘Red Scarf narrators’, the leaders toured the Deji Art Museum’s ongoing exhibition ‘Nothing Still About Still Lifes: Three Centuries of Floral Compositions’, listening to each red scarf narrator’s guidings and insights regarding the artworks.
As part of our continued practice of the educational and research functions of the museum, we will continue to provide high-quality research and study services for Hongwu North Road Primary School, offering more learning resources and communication platforms for students. In addition to the ongoing ‘Red Scarf narrators’ training program, the Deji Art Museum will also collaborate with Hongwu North Road Primary School to regularly hold lectures and projects focusing on themes such as art education, history, museology, and traditional culture, and launch the ’15min Education Circle’ — allowing students to visit the Deji Art Museum after class to visit the exhibitions, so they can express their own voices while experiencing the charm of art, leaving their energetic and confident marks in the space of art.
