Introduction
Tom Wesselmann has been pushing the Pop Art movement forward by creating works in a variety of forms and media, including painting, collage, and sculpture. From the 1970s onwards, Wesselmann began to fully explore the conventional themes of landscape and still-life, partaking in observational studies of flora and fauna. Drawing from traditional still-life paintings, Wesselmann pioneered the use of industrial technology to create laser-cut wall sculptures. Country Bouquet is one of the most representative works of this series, embodying the vitality of nature through vivid and unpretentious floral imagery, while also marking Wesselmann’s groundbreaking innovations in both subject matter and technique.
