Introduction
With a plump rim, straight mouth and short neck, a slightly bulging shoulder, a converging belly, and a flat bottom, the Zhi, has its neck stretching into a frieze of floral design with similar silhouette to the lotus-shaped mirror in the Tang Dynasty. Below the rim, a half-ring handle is attached, slim and elegant. It is fully covered in thick sky blue glaze, running downwards to the foot with changes of gradations due to its varied thickness. Three spur marks are visible and wrapped around by thick glaze. The dark biscuit colour is looming below the transparent glaze along its rim. The subtle curve between the neck and the shoulder is obvious with closer inspection.
