Introduction
A leading figure in American Pop Art, Andy Warhol is known for his extensive appropriation of ready-made images and revolutionary silkscreen prints, as well as his works on consumer goods and celebrities. In 1964, he established his renowned Silver Factory studio, ushering in a significant turning point in his career and giving rise to the iconic Flowers series. Warhol appropriated a photograph of a flower published in Modern Photography magazine and produced a large number of silkscreen prints with repeating motifs in various colour schemes. Through repeated printing, the real flowers were transformed into indistinguishable, similar patterns; thus, Warhol had distilled these flowers into pure and simple forms, which became the symbol of his pivotal shift towards nature-based themes.
