Over nearly three decades of thoughtful, methodical acquisitions, the Deji Art Museum has developed two major collection systems: Chinese antiquities and Chinese & international modern and contemporary art. The Chinese antiquities collection spans from the Neolithic period through the Ming and Qing dynasties, encompassing ceramics, paintings, Buddhist sculptures, furniture, and more, offering a vivid portrait of China’s artistic achievements, intellectual traditions, and creative vitality across different historical periods. The Chinese and international modern and contemporary collection — represented most distinctly by the “Floral Compositions” series — explores the vitality and creative exchange of art across different eras and cultural contexts.
